Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:3,7-Disubstituted-cephem-4-carboxylic acid of formulaI(R1 is amino or protected amino; R2 is carbamoyloxy, substd. of unsubstd. heterocylic thio; R3 is carboxyl or protected carboxyl).
EXAMPLE: 7-[2-hydroxyimino-2-(2-aminothiazole-4-ylacetamide]-3-(1-metyl-1H- tetrazole-5-yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic diphenylmethyl ester syn-isomer.
USE: Antibiotic. It has higher anitibiotic acitivity than the anti-isomer.
PREPARATION: It is prepared according to methods 1 and 2; The starting material of formula II in method 1 is novel compound and the reaction is conducted preterably on a near neutral medium. The method 2 is the elimination of carboxyl protecting group which is conducted by hydrolysis O reduction.
