Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote nitration and denitrification reaction without using alkali and an organic carbon source in an aerobic digestion tank, by introducing mixed liquid flowing out from a nitration tank installed after said digestion tank to said digestion tank.
CONSTITUTION: Raw sewage and two or five times dilution water more than raw sewage are introduced to an aerobic digestion tank while the mixed liquid of a nitration tank mounted after said digestion tank and the settled sludge of a sedimentation basin are returned to said aerobic digestion tank. The mixed liquid and sludge serve as the seed sludge of denitrification, and there happens a nitration phenomenon in the aerobic digestion tank when pH 6W8, DO 0.2W1 ppm and not less than 12°C water temp are maintained while a denitrification phenomenon is generated, thus removing total nitrogen and 80W90 % BOD. Solid and liquid are separated at the next sedimentation basin, supernatant liquid is introduced to the nitration tank and residual ammoniacal nitrogen is nitrified, and its one portion is returned to the aerobic digestion tank and the remainder liquid is fed to the sedimentaion basin
