Abstract

PURPOSE:The composite brazing filler metal which is to be heated up to its apparent melting temperature, obtained by including two or more kinds of brazing filler metal components, each of which has the melting point different from other's, or by including the brazing filler metal component together with a metal with higher melting point then that of the former component. CONSTITUTION:The brazing filler metal is prepared by dispersing into a low melting point brazing filler metal component 2, another brazing filler metal component 3 with the melting point higher than that of the main component 2; or by mixing these two components 2, 3, in a fine grain state, and then by sintering them; or by kneading two components 2, 3, together with the flux so as to form a semisolid material, without processing by sintering. Or otherwise, it is possible to form these two brazing filler metal components 2, 3, into a composite wire or a laminated plate. When the brazing is carried out in a furnace using this brazing filler metal, the inside temperature of the brazing furnace is settled at a temperature, higher than the using temperature of the brazed parts, and also, a temperature not to give the damage to the brazed parts; the brazing is carried out using the brazing filler metal whose melting point varies within the temperature range allowed to the brazing furnace as above mentioned. The low melting point component 2 of the brazing filler metal melts and wets the parts to be brazed, and then, the higher melting point component or metal 3 diffuses with the time; hereby the melting point of the molten metal is gradually raised, and the molten metal solidifies to finish the brazing.
