Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible joining of brazing parts at a low temperature in a brazing filler metal consisting of metals (a), (b), by mixing both metal components in the form of particles into a flux without alloying these in case one of the component metals has an m.p. lower than the m.p. of the brazing filler metal. CONSTITUTION:In case the m.p. of one metal (b) out of a brazing filler metal consisting of two kinds of metals, (a), (b), is lower than the m.p. of the brazing filler metal itself, the particles of the metal (a) and the metal (b) are mixed with a flux (c), and are made into the brazing filler metal. This metal is supplied between the metals (d) and (d) to be connected and is heated, whereby said metals are brazed. In this case, the particles of the low m.p. metal (b) first melt, and wet the metal particles (a) of a higher m.p. and the material (d) to be connected and begin to melt these into the molten metal (b). If the heating is suspended at the time when the metal (b) melts down the metal (a), the brazing similar to that when conventional alloy type brazing filler metals are used is accomplished at temperatures lower than those in the prior art.
