Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a fitting device whose operation is not affected by the small size differential and deformation of boots and which is capable of quickly and easily fitting on work even the boots having a plurality of fitting spots regardless of the shape thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the boots 1 having an inner end section 2 and an outer end section 3 are fitted in the outer circumferential grooves 6 and 8 of double tube work 4, said boots 1 are fitted in the vicinity of the guide 25 end section of a multi-stage cylinder 9 with the inner end thereof forcibly increased in diameter by another fitting machine, and the head section 27a of said multi-stage cylinder 9 is faced with the flange section 5a of said work 4. In this condition, centering is made by advancing a rod 14 toward work 4 side with air supplied through a communication hole 37 and a guide 25 is contacted with a flange 5a by supplying air through a communication hole 35. Thereafter, a push-out device 24 and cylinders 23 and 22 are set in motion in order, and required operations are completed.
