Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve responsing reformance by providing an oxygen enriching-and- weakening battery in inclined position on the top of an upwardly opened main burner of a safety device and keeping it in contact with flame of a small burner on the top surface so that it is always kept in oxygen-lacking atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen enriching-and-weakening battery 2 composed of porous electrodes 22 and 23 attached onto both sides of a calcined body 21 of oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte is provided in inclined position on the top of an upwardly opened main burner 1 so that waste gas is kept in contact with the bottom porous electrode 22 to produce oxygen-exceeding atmosphere when flame A of the main burner 1 is normal and the flame is kept in contact with the electrode to produce oxygen-lacking atmosphere when oxygen supply is insufficient. The top porous electrode 23 is kept in contact with oxygen-lacking flame B of a small burner 3 to produce oxygen-lacking atmosphere at all times. Output at the time of normal burning of the flame A of the main burner is connected to wires 25 and 26 so that opening of an electromagnetic valve is maintained.
