Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect machines from contamination due to cooling water, by assuring the feed water for a boiler through a water supplement line, continuing the operation of a power plant for a while and discharging contaminated condensate out of a system when the cooling water leaks in a steam condenser.
CONSTITUTION: In the power plant, steam worked at a steam turbine 2 is cooled and condensed by the steam condenser 4 and the condensate is returned to the boiler 1 through a condensate line 30 by a condensate pump 5. The water supplement line 31 equipped with a supplemented water tank 7 for reserving clean feed water is coupled in parallel with the condensate line 30. When contamination in the steam condenser 4 is detected by a detector 16, an auxiliary condensate pump 11 is started through a control panel 17. At that time, a solenoid valve 19 for operating a pneumatic valve 12 and a three-way solenoid valve 21 for operating control valves 8, 9 are energized to open the water supplement line 31, and another three-way solenoid valve 20 is shifted to discharge the condensate in the condensate line 30 out of the system.
