Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce toner accumulation on the surfaces of carrier particles and to strengthen the mechanical strength of the particles by coating the surface of core material with gray composition containing fluoropolymer and special pigment.
CONSTITUTION: 5W80 by weight of percent of a mixture containing black fine particles such as carbon black and white fine particles such as TiO2, one of which is at least conductive, or gray conductive pigment such as Zn powder exhibiting solely conductive is uniformly mixed with fluoropolymer in aqueous dispersion of the fluoropolymer such as polytetrafluorethylene. A gray coated layer is formed on the surface of a core material in thickness of preferably 0.2W5μ using this suspension liquid. Thus. there is provided an image of superior gradation reproducibility, stabilized powder characteristics and frictional charging characteristics under wide temperature and moisture conditions and reduced edge effect due to conductivity of filler pigment.
