Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable multiple rotating angle signals and a required number of reference position signals to be obtained with a small space by opposing a signal rotor having a magnetic disc and a magnet to a magnetic head.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic flux change of a magnet 15 along with the revolution of a signal rotor 10 coupled to the revolving shaft of an internal combustion engine is detected with a magnetic detecting head 20 built-up with two elements and is then supplies to a signal processing circuit 30, from which the rotating angle signal is outputted to terminal a and the reference position signal to terminal b. The magnetic disc 13 of the rotor 10 is constituted by the ferrite wherein mulitple magnetic pole arrays are magnetized on the circumference surface. Its pressure plate 12 and disc 14 for pedestal are made of non-magnetic material. The magnet 15 for reference position signal is buried in the disc 14 perpendicularly to the disc 13. The disc 13 is used to detect the magnetism of the circumferential components and the magnet 15 to detect the vertical components. The same poles of both are opposed.
