Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain permanent magnet of excellent hear resistance and good magnetic characteristics by orientating, molding, and soldifying ferromagnetic powder by applying a magnetic field to a molten compound containing a ferromagnetic powder, a polyamide resin, and toluene sulfonic acid amide.
CONSTITUTION: A compound containing a ferromagnetic powder, e.g., Ba-ferrite, Sr-ferrite, etc., a polyamide resin, and toluene sulfonic acid amide is melted and then subjected to a magnetic field for the orientation, molding, and solidification of the ferromagnetic powder. For example, a molten compound composed of 86% Sr-ferrite of average grain size of 1.3 microns, 13.5% a polyamide resin, and 0.5% toluenesulfonic acid amide is cast into a mold at 270°C, and then the mold is pressed while being kept at 260°C and subjected to a magnetic field of a 1000 Oe in the direaction A-B. After cooling the mold, the magnetic field is released to obtain a rectangular molding. Thus, it is possible to make magnetic characteristics better by orientating the ferromagnetic powder and also to stabilize characteristic properties and shape even at a high temperature above 170°C.
