Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an air conditioning system for aircrafts, in which arrangement is such that a re-circulating fan in driven by bleed air and the bleed air is furnished to the cabin as fresh air, whereby sizes of the fan and driving means can be made small, and at the same time, consumption of bleed air can be saved.
CONSTITUTION: Flow rate of air circulated in conduit 18 is detected at venturi portion 17 and given as input to means 19 for controlling re-circulated air flow rate, so as to control the flow rate of bleed air passing through control valve 20 for controlling the flow rate of re-circulated air. Rotation of turbine 16 is controlled by the bleed air controlled as above, and the bleed air is expanded in the turibine 16 to a low temperature. Then, it is gathered, as fresh air, in the region downstreams of tubine 16 and supplied into cabin 12. On the other hand, air circulated from cabin 12, as shown by arrow C in the drawing, is controlled at a required flow rate by means of fan 15 driven by the turbine 16 and driven into conduit 18. After passing through venturi portion 17, it gathers in the region 11 downstreams of turbine 7 and then is returned to cabin 12.
