Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the output of nearly a fixed level through a simple constitution by lowering the peak level of the pulse laser oscillation output as well as repeating the pulse duration in a long and high-speed way for oscillation. CONSTITUTION:The voltage is applied to flash lamp 3 from auxiliary power supply P1 with triggering 4 in order to maintain the discharge. Then the output of double voltage power supply P3 is piled on the output of main power source P2 to increase the voltage at the discharge starting time. P3 features large output impedance, and the voltage supplied to switching circuit 7 is dropped down suddenly with start of discharge. The preparatory discharge voltage of lamp 3 is set to Va, and P2 is set as maximum output voltage VMO>Va. When circuit 7 is turned on and off at time t1 and t2 respectively, the voltage of lamp 3 lowers once by the plus (+) amount via coil 9 and then increases to reach up to Va. If circuit 7 is turned off at middle time t3, the smooth shifting to the main discharge at low voltage of VM1<VMO to finally secure Va. Thus, a sufficiently high voltage is applied at the discharge starting time to perform the smooth main dischrge, and then the main dischrge is carried out gradually with the low voltage to ensure the continuous pulse discharge. Thus, the peak output can be kept at low level.
