Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily and reliably detect the leakage and leaking rate of cooling water from the quantity and accumulating rate of the water, which is accumulating in a collector, with the use of a level meter by communicating the collector, which is equipped with a resetting drain pipe, with a device from which the cooling water leaks.

CONSTITUTION: A vent pipe 12 is made to have communication with a housing 2 which is equipped in its inside with a cooling coil 3. Moisture steals from the outside into the housing and forms dew on the surface of the coil 3 until it drops down from the housing 2. The water leaking from the coil 3 also drops down. The water thus having dropped is guided from a drain pipe 4 into a collector 5. This collector is equipped with a collector drain pipe 6, a drain valve 9, a resetting drain pipe 7, a resetting valve 9 and an overflow pipe 10. A level meter 11 is made to generate a warning signal when the water level in the collector 5 reaches a preset value. The leakage or the generation of dew can be known from the time period during which the level meter 11 is operated after the resetting valve 9 is closed. If the collector is equipped with a water quality analyzer, it is possible to judge whether the water having dropped is the cooling water containing a rust proofing agent or the dew.
