Abstract

PURPOSE: To continuously detect the temperature from a low level to a high level by detecting the temperature, after the variation in the temperature is converted into that in pressure, with the use of a semiconductor pressure sensor, which has its resistance varied in accordance with the pressure, while reducing deterioration due to the using circumstances.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensitive cylinder 50 is hermetically connected to a semiconductor pressure sensor 70 by means of a capillary tube 60. The cylinder has its inside 51 is filled up with gases such as helium and is placed in a measuring place. When the pressure of the helium is varied in accordance with the temperature, the pressure variation is transmitted to the diaphragm 2 of a sensor body 1, and four diffusion type strain gauges 6a to 6d exhibit the resistance values according to the pressures. These values are read out in terms of the voltage at the output side of a bridge so that the pressure of helium can be known. If the variation in the volume of the container is neglected, the pressure is proportional to the temperature so that the temperature of the cylinder 50 can be known.
