Abstract

PURPOSE:A polyester open tube is closed on the one end by fusing it into specifically dented form and then the other end is formed into neck with desired shape, thus producing title article preventing crack formation on the surface and having good appearance. CONSTITUTION:An open tube of a polyester containing polyethylene terephthalate as major recurring structural units is heated up to the molding temperature at the both ends. The one end 1 is fuse closed between mold 2 and mandrel 3 to form the bottom and the other end is formed into the neck with desired shape, wherein the bottom part is closed so as to satisfying the equations: d<2>1/d<2>0>=0.5, h/a<=2 (d0 is the outer diameter of the tube, d1 is minimum diameter of the bottom ground, h is depth of the dented part, a is wall thickness of the tube), thus preventing the formation of the cracks on the surface of the blown article.
