Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance an O3 decomposition rate by injecting O3 from a plurality of O3 injectors provided in a pass for exhaust gas contg. a malodorant such as H2S or NH3 so that the ratio of the residual malodorant and O3 is made constant at O3injection points.
CONSTITUTION: O3 is injected into exhaust gas 4 contg. H2S as a malodorant from line 31 in the ratio of O3:H2S=3:1, and gas 4 passes through O3 contact vessel 1 while decomposing part of the H2S. Fresh O3 is then injected from line 32 so taht the ratio of the residual malodorant and (the residual O3+fresh O3) is made constant (1:3). Thus, the malodorant H2S is further decomposed. Fresh O3 is finally injected into the exhaust gas passing through vessel 1 from line 33 under the same condition as that of line 32 to decompose most of the malodorant, and the deodorized exhaust gas is drawn out of the system through line 5. The O3 decomposition rate of this method reaches 87.5% by injecting O3 to H2S in a ratio of 3.45:1.
