PURPOSE:To attain highly-efficient current amplification, without losing bothway operation stability, maintaining the operation margin of an I<2>L, by integrating the I<2>L and an ordinary bipolar element on one substrate at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A current is supplied via resistance 5 to the emitter of lateral transistor Q4 of the bipolar circuit, its emitter is grounded via base resistance 6, and one of collectors is connected to the base. With resistance 5 made higher than resistance 6, the emitter current can be controlled and, in consequence, resistance 6 increases the base potential of Q4 when Q4 serves as the base current supply of longitudinal transistor Q3, thereby preventing the saturation of Q4. At this time, the values of resistances 5 and 6 are selected so as to make emitter-base forward voltage VF of Q4 less than the base potential and the emitter current is made approximate twice that of injector 2 of the I<2>L. In the above constitution, the current amplification factor can be secured sufficiently, unstable operation such as the saturation of Q4 never occurs, and the I<2>L operation margin is maintained.
