CONSTITUTION: A hard alloy for powder metallurgy mold, consisting of a hard phase and a high melting metallic phase and also having the whole composition of the formula, is manufactured by mixing W powder, a specific metal carbide powder, and a specific metal nitride powder, by drying the mixture, by pressing the mixture in a mold for hot forging, and then by sintering it under vaccum or reduced pressure. In the formula, M1 is one or more of Ti, Zr, and Hf, M2 is one or more of Cr, Mo, and W, a+b is 1, 0.1≤a≤0.7, 0.05≤x+y<0.6, 0.05<x≤0.5, 0≤y≤ 0.5, and 0.1≤z≤0.5.
