Abstract
PURPOSE: To control the temperature in the layer of the moving layer incinerator by means of water cooling walls which surround the moving layer portion of the incinerator and water cooling pipes provided within the moving layer, thereby lowering the time constant of the incinerator and, hence, burning up the substance to be disposed effectively.
CONSTITUTION: A porous plate 2 provided in the lower portion of a moving layer incinerator 1 is lined up by cooling water pipes and a moving layer 4 has cooling water pipes provided therein and also coiled water cooling pipes 8 mounted so that they will form a water cooling wall 9. Then, the temperature in the layer of the incinerator 1 is transmitted from a temperature emitter 10 to a regulating box 13, which sends signals for controlling the amount of the cooling water which flows through the cooling water pipes 6 inside the layer and the water cooling wall 9. The cooling water fed from a pump 14 flows, after regulated in the amount by a control valve 16, through the cooling water pipes 6 and the cooling wall 9 and then exhaused in the form of vapour. Accordingly, it is possible to lower the time constant of the incinerator 1 and thereby to burn up the substance to be disposed which contains nitrogen compounds such as EP ashes without producing any nitrogen oxides.
