Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a resin-molded transformer, by attaching an iron core and iron core fitting members to a coil molded with a synthetic resin and setting a mold around the iron core and filling a flexible synthetic resin in the mold to integrated the coil with the iron core.
CONSTITUTION: The iron core 12 and the iron core fitting members 13 are attached to the molded coil 11 produced by molding a coil 17 with the synthetic resin 18 which is electrically and mechanically strong. The metal mold 16 open at its bottom is so set that the iron core is entirely covered. The assembly is then inverted. The flexible synthetic resin 19 is poured into a cavity defined by the molded coil 17, the metal mold 16 and the iron core 12 so that the fitting members 13 are partly exposed. Thus, the distance between the iron core 12 and high-voltage terminals 14 of the molded coil 11 is shortened and the external flashover distance is determined between the high-voltage terminals 14 and low-voltage terminals 15. This enables the reduction in the size of the resin-molded transformer.
