Abstract
PURPOSE: To apply the lubricant to the surface of the die and the metallic material, and to extrude the good product free from the surface defect, by feeding the metallic material entirely coated with the thermoplastic synthetic resin, into the rotary wheel type continuous metal extruder.
CONSTITUTION: The entire surface of the metallic material 6 is coated by deposition, etc., with the thermoplastic resin like as PP, PE, etc., for instance. When this coated metallic material 6 is fed into the path formed between the outer circumferential groove 2 of the rotary wheel 1 and the stationary shoe of the extruder, the wheel 1 is being cooled and is restricted to a low temperature at neighborhood of the entrance of the path, so that the coated resin does not melt there; as a result, the friction force between the coated resin and the circumferential wall of the path does not reduce, and the metallic material 6 goes forward through the path. In front of the projection 4 within the path, a high pressure and high temperature condition is kept, so that the coated resin melts there, and gives the lubrication to faces of the extrusion die 5 and the metallic material 6; as a result, the extruded product 7 with good surface condition can be obtained.
