Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an electric wire-cutting method effectively applied to taper cutting wherein an open voltage applied to a processing gap is controlled to control the cutting of a processing groove. CONSTITUTION:In a taper cutting method wherein table placing thereon an object to be processed in moved in X- and Y-directions and an upper guide in a wire electrode 2 is moved in X- and Y-directions, an open voltage applied between the wire electrode 2 and the object relates to grooving. An adequate voltage to maintain the same groove width with that at straight sections is determined from the drawing, if the processing is carried out in a curve section at the lower plane- processing speed. Voltage is then lowered to the adequate voltage value at the curve section.
