Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve deflecting defocus characteristics of the electron gun of a cathode-ray tube, by providing a permanent magnet piece near the 3rd grid electron through hole so that an electron-beam shape will be laterally slender and longitudially longish.
CONSTITUTION: An electron traveling from the reverse surface of paper to this side is applied with Lenz's low force 18 by a magnetic field generated by permanent magnet piece 16 inside of the electron through hole. In this case, an upward magnetic field at the left half side of a scanning surface and a downward magnetic field at the right half side are generated by magnet piece 16, so that the electron beam spot will be laterally slender and longitudially longish.
