Abstract

PURPOSE: To completely shield the magnetic field in the collector region by setting the distance L between the uppermost surface of the collector pole piece and the uppermost part of the intra-collector beam collosion part to L>D/3 against the opening diameter D of the uppermost part of the pole piece.
CONSTITUTION: The extra-vacuum pole piece 19' extends upward across the upper surface of the permanent magnet 20 and the bore D of the pole piece is reduced until it becomes equal to the outer diameter of the collector member 22. The pole piece 19' extends so that the distance L between the intra-collector top A and the upper surface of the pole piece 19' can be set to L>D/3. This permits the magnetic field of the collector region to completely be shielded within the range of the electron beam movement.
