Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the length ratio of an electron-beam spot over the entire screen by providing an electromagnetic piece between a pre-focus lens and main lens surrounding an electron beam passage and by contracting the spot on the screen horizontally while expanding it vertically. CONSTITUTION:Near the electron-beam passage of the 3rd grid 9, namely, between the pre-focus lens and main lens, magnet piece 11 is provided surrounding the electron-beam passage. Then, an electron beam is made to fly piercing magnet piece 11 at its inside from your side and force 13 shown by the arrow acts upon magnetic lines of force 12 to contract the beam spot horizontally while expanding it vertically. This constitution reduces the length ratio of the spot over the entire screen, making a picture easy to see.
