Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the heat radiation effect of a fluorescent screen and render its luminance greater by the interposition of a metal or metal oxide between the metal back and fluorescent screen.
CONSTITUTION: A metal or metal oxide 9, e.g., Al or Al2O3 is packed in between the fluorescent screen 3 formed on the screen portion of the tube 1 and the metal back 4, whereby the transmission of the energy heat of electron beam from the fluorescent screen 3 to the metal back 4 can be attained and therefore its heat radiation effect can be made greater. Thus, the current density of electron beam can be increased and thereby the luminance can be raised.
