Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the flatness of a light absorbing film by forming a light reflecting film on the light absorbing film formed on the inner wall of a tube, and contaminating a light absorbing matter, from which the light absorbing film is prepared, with a granular inorganic matter having a smaller grain diameter than the light absorbing matter. CONSTITUTION:After the inner surface of a face panel 1 is coated with a photo resist 2 and the photo resist 2 is exposed and developed, photo-resist films 2g, 2r and 2b, which adhere to the photo resist 2 and are to be replaced with a phosphor, are formed on the photo resist 2. Next, a suspension liquid of a light absorbing matter such as a graphite is homogeneously applied over the face panel 1 so as to form a light absorbing film 4, the film 4 is dried, and a light reflecting film 5 is formed on the film 4 through the evaporation of aluminum. Here, the above suspension liquid should be added with an inorganic matter such as silicon dioxide which has a smaller grain diameter than the above graphite. After that, the photo-resist films 2g, 2r and 2b are removed by etching, and phosphor films 6g, 6r and 6b as well as a metal back film 7 are formed by a usual method. Consequently, since the spaces between the graphite films are filled with the inorganic matter, the flatness of the light abosrbing film is increased.
