Abstract

PURPOSE: To back up a computer system efficiently and rapidly by transmitting a fixed operation state signal from a subordinate computer to a host computer via communication circuit at every desirable time and by discriminating the state of the operation state signal.
CONSTITUTION: Host electronic computer 1 controlling several subordinate electronic computers 2 is connected to computers 2 via communicaton circuits TL. To back up an electronic computer in an abnormal state by using either computer 1 or electronic back-up computer 4 prepared separately, a fixed operation state signal is transmitted from each computer 2 to computer 1 via circuit TL at every desirable time and computer 1 discriminates the state of the operation state signal. Consequently, when the operation state signal is sent properly, the function of computer 4 is substituted with that of computer 1, so that the backing up of the computer system can be attained efficiently and rapidly which becomes abnormal.
