Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a CPU to discriminate at a read time that data are inputted to a screen from a keyboard, by automatically adding a special code to the keyboard.
CONSTITUTION: Although a character code of nine bits including two specific bits is written into refresh memory M, the display control part ignores two higher bits and supplies the character code of only seven lower bits to character generator CG, where a corresponding character pattern is generated. Therefore, when a character code inputted from any one of alphanumeric key AK, ten-key TK and function key FK is the same code, the same character is displayed. At a read time, however, a character code of nine bits is all inputted to the CPU, where a character code of seven lower bits is read in at the same time as the discriminaton of the keyboard by two higher bits.
