Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for controlling the address of a chaarcter pattern generator by a CPU, by sending out a character code to a refresh memory for normal character display and then by sending a character pattern continuously.
CONSTITUTION: To write a character pattern into character pattern generator CG, a character code to be written into normal refresh memory M is sent out to data line 2 first. In this case, the character code is stored in latch circuit L because of the write mode to CG. Output 11 of this latch circuit L becomes the higher address of CG by way of selector circuit S and address line 12. Next, the CPU sends out character patterns in sequence and writes data into CG. The lower address of CG is inputted from line 4 by driving a line counter used for a normal read.
