Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease greatly the codes as well as to increase the writing velocity by providing the writing direction designation code to the control code for designation of the writing direction and thus carrying out the writing in the designated direction with no designation of the writing address.
CONSTITUTION: The signals given from the computer or keyboard 1 are decided as the data or the control code at process circuit 2. For the data the character read out of character generator 5 is displayed 6 by the command of the timing circuit and via memory 3. On the other hand, in case the lateral writing command is given from the computer or the like, writing direction register 13 is not set by circuit 2 but digit register 7 is counted up with every character writing to give the laternal writing. Then in case the vertical writing command is given, register 13 is set by the output of circuit 2. And the vertical writing is possible in the designated direction for the subsequent data with no designation of the address. As a result, the codes can be reduced greatly, at the same time increasing the writing velocity.
