Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damaging of photoreceptor and achieve the extension of service life of the photoreceptor by letting the photosensitive layer provided at one end of linear conductors arrayed in umltiplicity carried on an insulator perform only photoelectric conversion without being used as a direct image forming surface.
CONSTITUTION: Linear conductors 2 composed of conductive wires, conductive fibers, etc. are parallel arrayed and are mutually insulated and held by an insulator 3. A photoconductive layer 4 is formed on one surface where the end faces of the conductors 2 expose and further a transparent electrode 5 is laminated.
