Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a refractory wire which comprises insulating wire cores each of which is formed by extruding and coating polyethylene or the like prepared by blending a specific quantity of a specific inorganic filler on a refractory separator layer on the conductor, whereby the refractory wire can withstand fires even when it is heated in a tightly closed state.
CONSTITUTION: On a refractory separator layer 2 provided on a conductor 1 there is extruded and coated polyethylene or ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resin 3 prepared by blending borates or frits of a melting point of below 800°C in a quantity 1/4 to 3/4 with respect to the quantity of a clay pulverulent body, and aluminum hydroxide in a quantity 1/2 to equivalent with respect to the quantity of a clay pulverulent body, and 30 to 80 parts by weight of an inorganic filler, thereby the form each of insulating wire cores 4. For instance, a sheath layer 5 of a vinyl chloride composition is extruded and coated on said insulating wire core 4 or a plurality of said insulating wire cores 4 are doubled and twisted, jute and the like are inserted as inclusions 6 in grooves in twist, a keep winding 7 such as a cloth or the like is applied to coat thereon a sheath layer 5 of a vinyl chloride composition, thereby to form a refractory wire.
