Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the non-combustibility of cable by providing a protective coat of a flame retardant rubber between the insulated layer and the outside shieth.
CONSTITUTION: The internal semiconductive layer 2 and the bridged polyethylene insulating layer 3 are formed in order over the surface of the conductor 1, then the external semiconductive layer of carbon tape 4 is overlapped on it, then the copper tape 5 is further overlapped on it, and lastly the polyester film tape 6 is laid on it. The strand thus obtained is made into a three-strand twisted wire, and then the twisted wire is covered with the intervend jute 7, then with the protective coat 9 obtained by extruding a flame-retardant rubber material of unvulanized chloroprene, etc., and lastly with the external shieth 8 of polyvinylchloride resin, etc., formed by extrusion. The method, even in case where comparatively combustible insulating layer of polyethylene, etc., is used, enables one to prevent the outflow by melting of insulating layer and also to raise non-combustibility of cable.
