Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a caking inhibitor capable of preventing caking of granulated blast furnace slag over a long term which inhibitor contains an aliph. oxycaeboxylic acid, its derivative or a mixt. of two or more kinds of them as a prinicpal component.
CONSTITUTION: The caking inhibitor contains an aliph. oxycarboxylic acid such as citric acid, an aliph. oxycarboxylic acid salt such as Na salt or an alkylene oxide adduct of an aliph. oxycarboxylic acid salt such as EO adduct, or a mixt. of two or more kinds of them as a principal component. The amt. of the inhibitor used is pref. 0.001W0.5 wt% to granulated slag. When the slag is used as fine aggregate for cement mortar or concrete, it is desirable to use 0.005W0.1 wt% of the inhibitor.
