Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote evaporation and achieve the reduction in size and higher speed of the device by disposing plural hold-down rollers arrayed with image supporting members in comb tooth form in proximity to a hot plate, blowing air flow in the spacings between the respective rollers and expelling the solvent air having evaporated from the neighborhood of the rollers.

CONSTITUTION: Rollers 30 which revolve at nearly an equal speed to the conveying speed of copying paper P, and divided to a plurality of rollers of a small width and are arrayed in comb tooth form are provided in proximity above a hot plate 27 and air flow is blown through the exhaust ports 33a thru 33c of a duct 32 between the respective divided rollers, is passed in the spacing between the respective rollers and is blown onto the copying P being conveyed on the hot plate 27. The hot plate 27 has an ascending slope 27a on the entrance side of the copying paper P and a descending slope 27b on the discharge side, both slopes being connected by a serration 29. The plural small width rollers 30 are provided in comb-tooth form in proximity (0.5 to 2 mm spacing) to the hot plate above the serration 27. This causes the solvent vapors evaporating from the copying paper P heated by the hot plate 27 to escape quickly from the neighborhood of the rollers, whereby the stagnation near the rollers is prevented and sufficient fixing is accomplished.
