Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform facsimile transmission with gradation by obtaining a binary signal either by mixing an AC voltage, which has no relation to the light and shade of a picture into an analog picture signal or by applying a pulse signal, which has no relation to the light and shade of the picture, to a comparator.
CONSTITUTION: The picture of original 1 is read out by photoelectric converter element 3 and analog picture signal is compared with the signal of comparator circuit 5 to obtain a binary-coded signal.
