Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester vessel having improved heat and chemical resistance, transparency, and mechanical properties, by applying activated light to a linear polyester sheet containing aliphatic unsaturated groups and a crosslinking reaction auxiliary in deep draw forming.
CONSTITUTION: A linear polyester containing 0.01W5 equivalent based on 100g of the linear polyester of an aliphatic unsaturated groups stable in a molten state of the polyester and 0.01W20 parts by wt. based on 100 parts by wt. of the liner polyester of a crosslinking reaction auxiliary is used as the linear polyester, and its sheet or film is irradiated with activated light to undergo crosslinking reaction at a stage after forming the sheet or the film, in the production of polyester vessel wherein the linear polyester sheet or film is heated to not less than its second-order transition temperature and deep drawn. Polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate may be cited as the polyethylene.
