Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin compsn. which can easily be molded at a relatively low temperature and is useful for the production of an expandable adhesive sheet and an expanded sheet, by a method wherein a liquid carboxyl gp.-cong. rubbery polymer is reacted with an epoxy resin, and a blowing agent and a hardener are mixed with the reaction product.
CONSTITUTION: A blowing agent and a hardener are mixed with a reaction mixt. in a state where part or the whole of a carboxyl gp.-contg. rubbery polymer is reacted with an epoxy resin, said reaction mixt. contg. 20W70wt% of a rubbery component based on the combined weight of the rubbery component and the epoxy resin, said rubbery component consisting mainly of the carboxyl gp.-contg. rubbery polymer, and said carboxyl gp.-contg. rubbery polymer being liguid at ordinary temperatures. The resulting resin compsn. is molded into a sheet to obtain an expandable adhesive sheet. The resin compsn. is molded into a sheet, and the resulting molded sheet may be cured and expanded by heating to obtain an expanded sheet. A carboxyl gp.- contg. acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer as said rubbery polymer is preferred.
