Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain Al foil for a capacitor of superior performance with little leakage current by taking out Al foil and surface treating it in an oxalic acid soln. during anodic oxidation when the foil is anodically oxidized.
CONSTITUTION: Al foil is chemically pretreated by anodic oxidation and dipped in an oxalic acid soln., pref. of a concn. above 0.2% to dissolution remove deposits on the surfaces of the anodic oxide films. the foil is then chemically treated by anodic oxidation. By this method, the treated Al foil surfaces are smooth and contaminated with no deposits, and hence the foil is well impregnated with an electrolytic soln.
