Abstract
PURPOSE: To smoothly flow down liquid metal trapped with wire netting along the V-shaped parts successively for high efficiency of vapor elimination by piling and filling a great number of wire netting with V-shaped folds in a manner that these V-shaped folds separate each wire netting.
CONSTITUTION: When the outside of a container 1 is cooled naturally and forcibly after the gas including liquid metal vapor is flown into the container 1 through an inlet nozzle 2, the liquid metal vapor in the container 1 is condensed and trapped at wire netting 6 piled and filled in the container 1, causing the outflow only of gas through an outlet nozzle 3. On the other hand, the said layer-filled body of wire netting 6 has downwardly sharp edges of V-shaped folds 6a of each wire netting 6, each edge contacting the wire netting 6 beneath; therefore, liquid metal trapped at each wire netting 6, when reaching a fixed amount, flows down along the V- shaped part of the wire netting, causing no accumulation on wire netting. As a result, the said liquid metal is not to be blown off by the gas flow supplied from beneath; thus, the vapor eliminating efficiency is improved.
