Abstract

PURPOSE: To make is possible to reduce the influence of contamination of a metering system by using a portion of discharged brine to dilute a fluid of high concentration thereby to narrow the concentration range in the sewage radiocative monitor of the liquid sewage treating system of an atomic plant.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of the sewage of high concentration, an automatic valve 6 is opened so that the brine of a preset flow rate by a flow rate adjustor 10 is guided through a communication pipe 12 into a discharge pipe 1. The sewage is then diluted and metered by a radioactive monitor 11. The fluid in the pipe in the vicinity of the monitor 11 takes a low concentration so that the contamination at the pipe wall is reduced to such an extent as exerts no influence upon the metering operation. The quantity of injection necessary for dilution to about 10-5 μ ci/cc is about 10% of the whole brine discharged. By narrowing the cencentration range of the fluid to be metered, the influence upon the contamination of the metering system can be reduced.
