Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a cargo ship capable of carrying regular-sized cargo and also bulk cargo, in which a pivotally movable hatch cover is provided at opposite longtudinal ends of a hatch formed in an intermediate deck, and a pivotally movable partition wall is provided at opposite lateral ends of the hatch, such that bulk cargo storing trunk may be formed when the hatch cover and the partition wall are folded and regular-sized cargo mounting deck may be formed when they are extended.
CONSTITUTION: Intermediate deck 3 of a cargo carrying ship disigned to be capable of carrying regular-sized cargos such as containers and vehicles and also bulk cargo such as iron ore is supported at opposite side boards in the manner of cantilever, and hatch openings are formed in the portions of the intermediate deck 3 in the manner registering the hatch openings of upper deck 6. A folding hatch cover 7 is provided at opposite longitudinal ends 5, 5' of the hatch of the intermediate deck 3 in pivotally movable manner, and a partition plate 9 is provided at opposite lateral ends 8, 8' of the hatch also in pivotally movable manner. When both of the hatch cover 7 and partition plate 9 are folded, a trunk for storing buld cargo is formed, at the same time making it possible to store regular-sized chagos in cargo hold 2 on the intermediate deck 3. On the other hand, when they are both extended, regular-sized cargos can be stored in each cargo holds.
