934,420. Bulk cargo spaces. WESER A.G. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 3, 1959], No. 33912/60. Class 113. An auxiliary hold 7, 8, immediately above a ship's main hold, is placed between the hatch openings, communicates with the main hold by bottom apertures 5 which are closable in watertight fashion, and has its own filling apertures 4. The auxiliary hold is divided into two compartments by a bulkhead 6, the compartments being connected by apertures 12. The bulkhead may be extended into the main hold to form a corn bulkhead 9. The auxiliary hold may have three compartments formed by two bulkheads, with closable bottom apertures in each compartment and two corn bulkheads in the main hold.
