Abstract

PURPOSE: To strengthen the adhering strength of the central electrode shaft and terminal shaft of an ignition plug by containing at least 10 by weight % of Fe-B or Ni-B alloy in conductive glass seal as conductivity imparting component.
CONSTITUTION: When iron including B or Ni alloy is used as at least part of metal fine powder mixed with seal powder material as conductivity imparting component, the B is diffused in the terminal and central electrode shafts to thereby form a reaction boundary phase to remarkably strengthen the adhering strength with chemical adhering factor thereto. Even in this case, the metal fine powder may contain Cu or Fe as conductivity imparting component, but when at least 10 by weight % of Fe-B or Ni-B alloy is contained, the above adhering strength can be provided.
