Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure the leakage protection even during the phase missing, by rectifying the output of zero-phase current transformer and charging a capacitor then detecting the level of said charging voltage at a switching circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Series circuit of diode D1 and capacitor C1 is connected across the coil of zero-phase current transformer ZCT while another series circuit of trap coil TC and swtiching element S is connected across said capacitor. Consequently when a leakage occurs to cause unbalanced current, voltage is induced in the output coil of ZCT to change the capacitor C1 and when said voltage reaches to the breakover voltage of the switching element S1 it is conducted to drive the trip coil TC. Since the tripping is performed by the energy stored in ZCT, the leakage protection is performed reliably even when one line is missed.
