Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Aq. soln. 2 contg. 1W10 wt% of one or more kinds of cpds. selected from furan and its derivatives such as THF is charged into container 1 cooled to below the m.p. of a gassous hydrate. A guest molecule such as methane pressurized with press. pump 5 is injected into soln. 2 from nozzle 4 provided at the tip of gas introduction pipe 3, and the molecule is reacted with water to form a gaseous hydrate. By this method formation of nuclei of the hydrate is facilitated extremely, and the hydrate formation rate and yield can be increased to above twice as high as those in case of no addn. of the above additives.
