Abstract
PURPOSE:The roll surface for use in high temperature atomosphere is coated with material containing 60% or more of ZrO2, thereby preventing metal depesition on the roll through transferring plate to keep the roll surface from roughening. CONSTITUTION:When galvanized steel plates or lkke are transferred through high temperature atomosphere by table rollers, Zn is sometimes deposited onto the roll surface. In such case, the roll surface is roughened with elevations and epressions, which causes scratches on the surface of transferred steel plates. To prevent this to occur, ceramic material containing 60% or more of ZrO2 is jet-coated on the surface of roll. The wettability of ZrO2 to metal is small, and ceramic material has high resistance to thermal schock. Therefore, transferred metal is hardly deposited on the roll surface, whereby the roll is provided with antispalling property free of roughening.
