Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a low resistance film thermistor, capable of being sintered, composed of at least two of Mn, Co, Ni, Fe and Al powders, a powdered glass and less than 15% RuO2 by weight.
CONSTITUTION: This thermistor material is composed of a thermistor characteristic powder which is yielded by crushing a material beforehand from a solid phase reaction of at least two of MnO2, Co2O3, NiO, Fe2O3 and Al2O3 powders, a powdered glass made of 24% SiO2 by weight, 25% PbO, 20% B2O3, 4% Al2O3, 6% Bi2O3, 15% BaO and 6% CaO and a RuO2 conductive powder. The content of the RuO2 conductive powder in the above composition is less than 15% by weight. The material with the above composition is kneaded together with an organic binder to made a paste. The raste thus obtained is sintered between electrodes 4 and 5 to form a sandwich-like thick film thermistor 3. The content of the glass in the above composition is preferably less than 45% by weight.
