PURPOSE:To perform an automatic gain control only with the insertion of the parallel connection element of a diode and a resistance without a DC amplification stage or an adjusting variohm. CONSTITUTION:The generated voltage of AGC circuit 20 is supplied from terminal 19 to the first amplification stage 1 and the second amplification stage 2 through diode D25 and resistance R17 respectively. When +B voltage is supplied to terminal 19, diode D18 is turned on and D25 is turned off by resistances 17 and 26. The gain control characteristic of each amplification stage for the voltage of terminal 19 is changed by the parallel insertion of D25 and R26 as well as D18 and R17. Consequently, the gain control quantity, the output voltage, and the AGC voltage of the first and the second amplification stages show an approximately delayed AGC characteristic by the increment of the generated voltage of input terminal 3. Thus, the operation strat point of the high-frequency gain control stage is made earlier slightly, and the impedance change for IF of the diode is utilized, thereby controlling mainly the gain control of the second amplification stage and the first amplification stage in case of weak to middle voltages and middle to strong voltages respectively.
